BELOVED TRADITION.
There's much folklore about how it began and no real agreement about its true origin but somehow, the Christmas pickle has become a tradition. As the story goes, the pickle is hidden on the tree with the first to find it receiving a special gift or good fortune for the following year, depending on which version you prefer. 

Regardless of how it came about, it's kind of a big dill for many families during the holiday season.
